Which teams are making history in the next round?

Altrincham FC Women (Tier 6):
Fighting against stormy conditions in the northeast, the Greater Manchester based team scored with only five minutes left on the clock to book a place in the third round for the first time in their history.
Although hosts Ponteland had better possession in the first half, Altrincham’s defence stood firm and the score remained 0-0 as the whistle blew for half-term. Despite numerous opportunities, the best chances of the half from both teams came through Elise Jones and Isla Maggs.
Ponteland started the second half the stronger of the two and almost took the lead through Holmes at the backpost but the ball went just wide of the mark.
With five minutes to go it was Nat Lowe who made good on her second attempt on goal to win the game. She dispossessed the Ponteland defender on the edge of the box and used her left foot to fire past the keeper and into the bottom corner.

Sutton United Women (Tier 5):
After going 1-3 up through a penalty and a brace, it was a mistimed tackle and the resulting penalty for hosts Bowers and Pitsea which saw a nervy 2-3 scoreline playout in the last ten minutes.
Although Bowers and Pitsea started quickly (forcing Sutton keeper Taylor into a fingertip save in the opening minutes) it was Sutton United who broke the deadlock first through a coolly converted penalty by Beth Humphrey.
Taylor was then called into action one more as she made a fine diving save to deny Bowers and Pitsea levelling just before the end of the first half.
Not content with a single goal between them, Millie Cutler turned in her first of the afternoon after a well-placed low cross from Emma Spear for 0-2.
Minutes later, however, the hosts were able to pull one back through a defensive error and almost drew level just as quickly, if it wasn’t for the offside flag.
Determined to pull themselves out of danger, Cutler struck once again for Sutton, registering her brace of the afternoon and re-establishing their 2 goal lead. Fortunately for the home side, Hannah Baptiste mistimed her tackle and gave away a penalty which was subsequently converted, reducing the difference in the scoreline back to a slim 2-3.
Sutton United were able to throw everything at their defence through extra time and clung on to their narrow lead to secure their place in the third round.

Dartford FC Women (Tier 5):
After a nervy start, Dartford were able to take the lead through Mya Lewis-Powell who struck home from close range, minutes after visitors Keynsham Town had hit the crossbar.
The Darts then doubled their lead after a well-taken free kick from Abbey Davies found its way into the bottom corner for a more comfortable 2-0 lead.
The home side looked set for a clean sheet victory but Keynsham Town’s Megan Bible fired home from a set piece in the 89th minute for a last-minute consolation goal for the visitors.

Royston Town FC Women (Tier 5):
The Hertfordshire based side travelled to Bridgwater United in the second round and forced the game to penalties which they ultimately won 2-4.
A hard fought contest which remained goalless until Bridgwater’s Pengelly converted her penalty in the 85th minute with Royston Town equalising 6 minutes later through a divisive free-kick.
As the game entered penalties, it was neck and neck as both sides converted their first two spot kicks but it was the hosts who then missed the next two opportunities, hearts breaking as Royston Town converted all 4 of their chances to make FA Cup history.

York City Ladies FC (Tier 4):
The Minster Belles welcomed Norfolk side Wroxham to York Sport Stadium as the hosts ran out 3-1 winners.
York City broke the deadlock within 10 minutes when Rosie Bell delivered a dangerous ball into the box for Ruby Watt to convert with a powerful effort.
Despite chances for the visitors, it was the Minster Belles who then doubled their lead with Bell once again finding the back of the net for 2-0 just before half-time.
In the second half, York City almost made it 3-0 but the flag was raised against Astle’s attempt before Wroxham had a fairly dominant period of possession which ended in a penalty with just over 10 minutes left to go. Whilst Wroxham converted their penalty through Hayley Kindred, the hosts put a stop to any celebrations almost immediately as Rosie Bell secured her brace and a historic win for the tier 4 side.
