Picture the scene.
It’s 2011, Freya (from a very small northeastern mining town) and Lyndsey (from the distant lands of Redditch) meet at the University of Birmingham in the history department… or the LGBTQIA+ society socials (we can’t quite remember which one).
However! We ultimately discovered a mutual love of women’s football
and nearly a decade later, The Whole 115 Yards was born.
We thought to ourselves, if we were having these incredibly in-depth football discussions on a daily basis, surely other people were too?

(One of our first social media banners – you’ve been with us since the start if you remember this one!)
What does ‘The Whole 115 Yards’ do?
Taking you pitchside
With members of the team attending women’s football matches most weekends, including official pressbox access, you’ll be able to follow the action live from stadiums across Europe on our social media channels!
Match reports and vlogs
Not only are we reporting live on socials but our in-depth match reports (including fan reactions) will be uploaded as soon as possible after the final whistle.
Our Youtube and Tiktok channels are also the home of our matchday vlogs (and mini vlogs) come with us on home and away days
Weekly podcasts
Two podcasts? Oh go on then!
The Whole 115 Yards started off as purely an Aston Villa Women podcast, however, we’ve recently had a makeover!
The Whole 115 Yards will be back for special episodes but our brand new Aston Villa Women’s podcast is called
‘Part of the Pride Pod’ .

Want to shine the spotlight on your club?
The aim of The Whole 115 Yards has always been to bring the spotlight to the people and stories that make women’s football such an incredible community and we’re always looking to collaborate with clubs and players from grassroots and beyond!
From podcast interview specials, club vlogs, reporting from pitchside, matchday media access, we’d love to share your club’s story in any way we can.
Email us at: hello@thewhole115yards.com
or DM us on social media for more information!
We’ve recently teamed up with the
Aston Villa Women Fan Club
In mid-2024, we had the idea to bring more voices (and faces) onto the podcast to create a consistent weekly podcast so our brand new
‘Part of the Pride – An AVW Podcast’ was born!
Live Thursdays at 8pm on Youtube, you can find the link for our channel here (remember to like and subscribe so you know when we next go live!) featuring all of the latest AVW news, match reports, match previews and special guests!

We’ve worked with women’s football teams across the country including FA WNL Division One Midlands team, Lincoln United Women, to bring our very first ‘Meet the Manager’ special to life!
